All aspects of our presence rely on energy. The way we perceive, act, access, and present are energetic expressions and functions.
It is common to overlook aspects of our function that do not appear active or productive, and this causes issues with our dynamic experience. Rest is commonly seen only as necessity to be able to produce more when awake and active - in actuality rest is an imperative on its own, allowing for information to be receive, and processed, and for the mind to explore without the weight of the physical body.
This is essential in both our individual experience and as part of larger systems, relational, physical, and universal.
Elementals are the beings or energies that cary the presence of earth, air, fire, and water. We can view these in other terms - physical and structural (EARTH), ideas and developmental (AIR), creation and movement (FIRE), relational and reflective (WATER) By understanding and developing our connection to and through these aspects, we can step outside of our limited frame and see ourselves in context and connection to a larger Universal system.
Elemental connection and practice helps us to view our systems from both an internal and external viewpoint. Releasing the ego , so that the self can be better tended.
Gnomes , Slyphs, Salamanders, and Undines may be difficult for some people to feel comfortable accepting as guides, but the structures and archetypes they represent are undeniable and essential to understanding how to build the systems that we are meant to be a part of. We have the opportunity to invite them to guide us, lightening our own burden by allowing ourselves to be led.
The process and practices I use come through a range of influences. From family stories that were built from nature myths, Greek, Roman, Germanic, Scandinavian, Native American, and many other cultures - stories where the “why“ was explained in persona and through the innate knowledge. From energy work, reiki training, group meditation, community experience. From exploration of Biodynamics and other regenerative and land connective practices.
All information is available to each of us, these are innate lessons that we work to remember and relearn, translating for ourselves and others to make the hidden and arcane accessible and viable.
Our abilities and priorities shift. We live in a layer of experiences, at times certain layers take over. Through prompts and practice we can make our movements consciously, our actions can be made with clarity.
A site or system carries and is influenced by unique energies. Some come directly from the land, others from the plants and systems that we engage with, and still some from outside influence, other systems we are less connected to. Through energetic practices and intuitive development we can better receive and translate the information held within these systems.
These sessions are a way to translate and share information the site or system carries. I use watercolor and pencil to create maps and take notes on sensations that come up. With the system, we establish methods to evolve the client’s intuitive practice, enhance lines of communication, and make an actionable plan to deepen their relationship to the land .
For updates and connection
VAVA is the business form of Virginia Samsel.
Virginia is a Reiki practitioner, artist, and wine professional.
Virginia’s connection to Biodynamics comes through wine, finding resonance in the energetic, elemental, and connective aspects of the practice.
Virginia is an active board member for the Josephine Porter Institute for Applied Biodynamics, and works to build connection and relationships in community to expand Biodynamic studies, energetic exploration, and intuitive method.
Raised in Richmond, Virginia, with Texas roots, Virginia resides in Seattle , Washington, with her cat , Steve. She maintains a studio practice, a collaborative artist exchange, and rotation lead in Kalidescope Meditation Group.
In Biodynamic practice and philosophy, one of the key energies is Cosmic energy. This can affected by soil matter, land connection, and individual attunement.
Much of North America is lacking in Cosmic connection - the soils are generally low in silica, we have colonized the land and removed indigenous people, we grow non native crops (in particular vineyards), in most cases generational farming is limited to only a few generations and regularly by mechanized and exploitative practice, and spiritual or emotional inclusion in agriculture is often dismissed or overlooked. These are some of the factors that Reiki and other energy work can address to help Biodynamic farmers develop ways to increase their Cosmic access.
Reiki and Biodynamics, though dispersed though different culture, are not separate, they are tools of each other.
VAVA works to develop a practice for each system to build better connections. We focus on energetic awareness and flow, communication, rest, and celebration. We work under the knowledge that stewards do not guide the system from outside but exist of the system itself.
SELF
Important in all practice is the recognition and study of self. Where do we start, what compels our vision, our action. Each of us is fed by different means. Each of us has a unique vision that is never static. In learning to listen to intuition, we learn to listen to our own voice, often hidden in the buzz of everything else.
